Pre Filters
Pre filters are installed before the water treatment equipment to prevent sediment, silt, and iron water from clogging screens on faucets, shower heads, and the water treatment equipment. We typically use a 10" VIH (valve in head) with a 20 micron sediment filter. Larger homes with higher flow rates would take a Big Blue filter and installed with a 3-valve. Price range from $99 to $325 installed. Replacement filters range from $10 to $40 and we stock most types of water filters. We also provide a scheduled filter change service by request.
Post Filters
Whole house post filters are installed after a softener to prevent any iron bleeding through, to reduce sulfur smell, or to reduce chlorine in city water. Same options as listed above with a 20" VIH available. Filter types include a 1 micron for iron bleed or a carbon block for odor and/or chlorine reduction. Typical filter changes range from 3 to 12 months.
